LINDA: My name is Linda, I have lost 125 lbs, the thing I have gain most out of having my surgery was self-esteem. A lot of confidence, holding my head up when I walk down the street now instead of looking at the street thinking who’s looking at me, now you kind of want people to look at you, now that I feel good and feel good about myself.
Before surgery, I had acid reflux, I had high blood pressure, I had sleep apnea. I would get 10 hours of sleep and when I would wake up in the morning I felt like maybe I had two, I could not go upstairs, five stairs maybe, I was out breath. I have two small grandchildren. I couldn’t go to the park or nothing with them, couldn’t do anything really. I went to work, come home, went to sleep, ate, that was my life, I did not do nothing.
A friend of mine back home had surgery here, very successful. And I talked to her about it, come up here for the seminars, and decided that is something I needed to do. Before surgery, yeah I had a little bit of anxiety thinking, you know, is it going to work or isn’t going to work, how much am I going to lose, am I just going to lose so much and then stop and still be heavy?
But, after six months after surgery and when I seen the weight starting go then, then I thought oh yeah, this was a good decision. My life now since I’ve had my surgery and lost weight, I can go up and down stairs, I go to the park all the time, I can walk miles and not out of breath now. I sleep so sound now, no tossing and turning, the acid reflux is gone, my high blood pressure is gone, my eating habits have completely changed to get up in the morning is not a chore anymore. I can actually get out of bed and feel good. Life if completely different, just so much more energy it gives you.
