CINDY: My name is Cindy, I lost 50 lbs, what I gained was a life worth living and not just existing. It was time for me to do something for myself and so I did it. Had I known how it easy it was and I had no complications, everything went really smooth for me, I would have done it a lot sooner. I thought I would never be able again. I enjoy eating, and I enjoy food, I thought my whole life was going to change and it really didn’t, it is just a tool, a useful tool to help you get to the point you need to get to.

I could move. I could breath. I had asthma before and I do not carry an inhaler, I can breath, I can walk up a flight of stairs, I work out. I mean I am not running triathlons believe me, but I mean just living, I can live, I can walk. I am excited to go places and do things. When I looked in the mirror before and looked at myself, I felt like I looked distorted, you know, and I know that I have more weight to lose and I want lose more weight, but a major chunk of it is gone for me, which I wouldn’t have been able to do without the LAP-BAND surgery.

I was only kidding myself to think that I could have because if I could have I would have and I didn’t. I took a home equity loan, all the money that I spent trying weight watchers, everything, joining health clubs, everything to lose weight, I am sure I spent well over what I spent to have the surgery.

Well, if you had rather re-do your bathroom or redo yourself, I mean that is the way I looked at it. I looked at it as an opportunity to redo myself. Now I’m living, I was existing before, that’s the only way I can describe it. Now I feel like I am out and about, moving, and grooving and I am really – I would do it all again.
